Workshop Schedule

Linda Wokoun
Monday January 14th, 10am – 4pm

“Get Glowing”
Join Linda for a workshop that focuses on mixing colors directly on the painting surface to achieve the glow that only watercolor can create. Linda will provide demonstration and coaching through each step of a floral painting using wet into wet washes along with negative painting. Class participants will get a chance to practice mingling colors using the technique before tackling the actual painting. We will work from floral photo references but Linda will show how the technique can be used with any subject from portraits to abstracts.

Monday February 11th, 10am – 4pm

“Flawless Backgrounds”
How do you get smooth flawless backgrounds? It’s very easy with this technique! Using the right tools you can give your paintings a boost and bring them to a new level of expertise and drama…

Robert Broyles
Monday March 11th, 10am – 4pm

“Abstract Flamingo”
Using washes, glazes and spattering techniques, we will create a vibrantly colored, abstract flamingo. I will show you how to apply color without leaving brushstrokes and blend colors seamlessly, giving birth to the magic of watercolors. Although highly detailed and realistic in some areas, the changes in techniques allow a blending of reality and illusion to create a dynamic image. We will discuss color theory, composition and the importance of your materials in creating a successful painting. What you learn in this class can be used in any watercolor painting to create more outstanding results. My workshop will also show you how to apply adjacent light and dark pigments without any bleeding. Let’s paint and have some fun.

Fran Mangino
Monday April 8th, 10am – 4pm

“Get Energy in your Portraits”
It is time to think outside the box and paint outside those lines. Paintings sell when there is energy, excitement and life in portraits. In this class we will work on design, composition; push and pull of details. We’ll have fun getting the paint to flow outside those lines with strong values all while using the least amount of strokes.
