Ms. Charlotte studied Theater/Creative Writing at Columbia College, Columbia S.C., and pursued a career in TV /film production and advertising agencies as a writer/graphic designer. Still, her first love has always been painting (particularly watercolor portraits and figure studies) and that education has continued non-stop! She has studied at Ringling College of Art and Design and Polk State college, taken courses with watercolorists Mun Quan, Charles Reid, Douglas Teller and Mel Stabin; portraiture with Courtenay Hunt and Janet Rodgers, Gary Gessford and Ted Nuttall.
Marilyn is a signature member of FSWS and she teaches drawing, watercolor and acrylic painting classes at Sarasota’s Adult and Community Education (ACEC), watercolor and drawing at Longboat Key Center for the Arts and at workshops presented at various Community Art Centers. Her award winning paintings have been exhibited at various watercolor society shows and in galleries/Art Centers throughout Florida and many are in private collections in the U.S and abroad.
