Lourdes came to the Tampa Bay area to attend Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. Falling in love with the area, she never left. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts, art took a back seat for a number of years, but was never abandoned.
Lourdes currently balances a corporate career, family, and her passion for art, creating whenever and wherever she can squeeze it in . . . evenings, weekends, in cars, planes or plein air. Travel size paper blocks, a compact palette and the camera are travel companions.
Water media is the predominant medium when working two-dimensional, sometimes incorporating elements such as collage or pastels. Lourdes also works with kiln-formed glass and exhibits regularly in both watermedia and glass.
Although she finds inspiration everywhere, nature and wildlife have been ongoing interests. Having lived in the tropics and coastal areas her entire live, her work is bright and cheery.
A member of the FSWS, FWS, and an active member of the Suntan Art Center in St. Pete Beach, her work can be found locally, in group shows, and outdoor art festivals.
