The pursuit of water color painting, acrylics, mix media, and art history has been my priority since retiring as a first grade teacher.
Prior to moving to Florida in 2011, I studied art at the Darlington Fine Art center in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania with Karl Kuerner, and watercolor artist Sarah Yoemen from Wilmington Delaware. I attended art courses at West Chester University, Neumann College, Ohio State University.
I am a member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Delaware Visual Art Society, and Delaware County Art Society. In 2011, my paintings were displayed in a solo show at University of Delaware Life Long Learning in Wilmington, Delaware. My art has been exhibited at the University of Pennsylvania in Radnor, Wallingford Art Center in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, Darlington Art Center in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, Delaware, Delaware Visual Fine Art Society in Greenville, and Venice Member Art Shows.
The underlying principle that guides my painting is to take the beauty of God’s creations to the viewer.
The essence of my art is a blend of spontaneity and control that combines the element of nature, texture, and design along with the magic of the paintings to create an original art form. When I am passionate about a subject my focus is to play in an unstructured manner with color, shape, and patterns. This energizes my creative energy and frees me to paint a composition that is productive and alive.
My passion is to inspire you to become part of the painting. Then we can dream we are part of the scene which motivates us to be connected to the painting. I am inviting you to enter my painting to become one with the scene
