My license plate reads: “Make Art” — which is exactly what I do. Making art is my business. Making art is my life. I share my stories through my paintings, using acrylics, watercolors, oils, collage and found objects to weave my tales in bold colors and symbolic motifs. Maybe my art will inspire or spark a secret memory; maybe it will transport a viewer into a new world or give them a different perspective on the here and now.
For me, creating art is my way of navigating through the unpredictability of life. It is the means by which I conquer the challenges and understand my struggles; it allows me to experience joy and stay anchored in the present.
Both my mixed water media and oil and cold wax paintings have won recognition in local, national and international shows. I am a member of numerous painting societies including, FSWS ,NWCS, FWS, PWCS, SOAP, SOMA, to name a few. My work has been featured in Watercolor Artist (April2014; June 2016), The Ageless Woman Magazine (Spring 2014), Altered Art Magazine (2007). Major commissions include Washington DC Commission of the Arts Party Animals, Ocean City Arts Council Big Birds, and The Perlman Music Program’s “The Art of the Violin.”
I have studied with some of the most talented artists in their fields, including oil and cold wax artists, Rebecca Crowell and Lisa Pressman; watercolorists Joanna Coke and Pat Dews; and mixed media artist, Robert Burridge. Learning the ABCs from them has allowed me to cut loose to create my own unique style.
