Leaning on a market stall in Provence, a young girl was watching me take a picture of my friend. A year later, I discovered Golden Girl, patiently waiting in the background of my photograph, staring right at me.
Capturing these “souvenir moments” allows me to create human landscapes with a whole lot of heart and soul! First, I magnify my subject’s personality in a close-up portrait. Then, returning them to where they were found, I create a landscape that provides clues to the rest of their story. Golden Girl is also featured in a larger marketplace painting, Girl and the Green Bottles.
A Central Pennsylvania native, I graduated from Penn State, enjoyed a career as a hospitality executive in Philadelphia, and currently live on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
