Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society is an organization of nearly 250 members and growing. We are artists of all skill levels who who work in traditional watercolor as well as all types of aqueous media. Many members have “arrived” (achieved Signature status in state and national organizations); others paint part time for enjoyment; and still others are new to the art world, bringing their energy and fresh ideas.
With membership drawn from seven counties along the Suncoast, we tie our vast area together with this website, a quarterly newsletter, and periodic news alerts. We provide couriers and carpools for exhibits and events so that they are within reach to all our members.
Art can be a lonely endeavor, and it’s rewarding to have your work admired by your community, your accomplishments noted and your ideas shared with other artists. In the 2013-2014 season, we will hold four juried exhibits in four separate locations in our area, with each displaying 75 to 100 paintings. Our popular exhibits draw ever increasing audiences.
Part of our focus is helping members improve and expand their techniques via workshops, affordable because talented member artists donate their skilled teaching.
And part of our focus is social, bringing people with a shared interest in art to work together at receiving and hanging exhibits, opening receptions, an annual luncheon, and a number of special events.
Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society offers artists inspiration, increased skill, friendship and an opportunity to display their work in a variety of prestigious venues. I’m honored to be President during an active 2013- 2014 season. Here’s to pure pleasure from your membership.
